The Coming Era of Magical Physics
Article by Gregory Daigle (gdaigle)
In the past year several scientific claims that apparently contradict "known" physical laws have been making headline news. Some are so contradictory to personal experience that their application would seem like "magic" if we were not already in an age of remarkable discoveries. This is a fairly brief but still relatively complete take on three of the most breakthrough discoveries that may very well change the future of physics and the world as we know it.
The three discussed are Invisibility, Anti-Gravity, and Perpetual Motion. All as the article mentions, previously believed to be impossible. The next step for all of these appears to be coming in 2007. The concepts themselves have been proven to a point in small scale experimental settings. All that remains is to ramp them up and make them scalable to larger more practical applications. These are truly life changing discoveries. One may well wonder what the world will look like in the next decade or two as these promulgate to the masses. Potentially wonderful or scary stuff, depending on how you look at it. I suppose with any major scientific discovery like this, there are ways to use it for good as well as evil. We can only hope for the best to come of it.
