From bears to bullets

Wade Hemsworth of the Hamilton Spectator writes about an inventor who has created a suit of armor for soldiers and police forces in this article. Check out the picture.
I think it could work. It does weigh a fair bit, but less than it would appear. From the initial testing done so far, it does seem to work. I would be interested to see how the full battery of tests goes. Assuming it performs as well as he thinks it will it could be a great thing for our military and police forces.
